Comprehensive Glaucoma Management

Early diagnosis. Ongoing care. Protecting your optic nerve through every stage of life.

Understanding Glaucoma

Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of irreversible blindness — and often develops without symptoms in its early stages. It’s caused by damage to the optic nerve, typically related to elevated intraocular pressure. Without regular screenings, many people don’t realize they have glaucoma until significant vision loss has occurred.

At Bayfield Eye Clinic, we focus on early detection through advanced diagnostics and long-term care planning. With proper treatment — including medication, laser, or surgical options — we can slow progression and protect your sight for years to come.

Advanced Glaucoma Diagnostics

Early glaucoma detection is key — and relies on more than just measuring eye pressure. At Bayfield Eye Clinic, we use a full suite of diagnostics to evaluate the optic nerve and monitor subtle changes over time.

This includes:

  • • Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
  • • Visual field testing
  • • High-resolution optic nerve photography

By combining these results with expert clinical interpretation, we build a clear picture of your eye health — and take action before vision loss begins.

Treatment Options for Glaucoma

Our goal is to preserve your vision with timely, personalized treatment — ranging from eye drops to in-office procedures and advanced surgical care.

Prescription Eye Drops

Often the first step, medical drops help lower intraocular pressure and prevent optic nerve damage.

Laser Therapy

In-office laser treatments like SLT (Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty) improve fluid drainage in many patients.

Minimally Invasive Surgery

When drops and laser aren't enough, MIGS (Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery) may be recommended for long-term control.

Co-Managed Follow-Up

We coordinate care with your Optometrist to ensure regular testing, updates, and shared decision-making throughout your treatment plan.
